Welcome to Creatives Chat from the Courtyard!
Updated: Aug 10
Hello art lovers + collectors and welcome to Creatives Chat – Courtyard on Cotton's blog – a conversational chat space where we (the COC artists) look forward to sharing (and celebrating!) our art related endeavors and experiences while highlighting available works of art from our creative collective community.
Who is Courtyard on Cotton?
Courtyard on Cotton, located in historic Downtown West Monroe, Louisiana, is a creative collective concept within a studio-esque setting – open to the public and by appointment – that includes an art gallery within the interior plus a sculpture garden in the exterior courtyard featuring the original works of local and regional artists. COC's founding artists group consists of nine NELA creatives: Jason Byron Nelson, Heather Gill, Ashley Greer, Joni Noble, Daniel Myers,Tony Thomas, Margaret Moses, Malva Rutledge and Larry Cavalier, who all create works of art to sell in the gallery and that include works on paper, canvas or board along with pottery, sculpture and more.
Art lovers and collectors are able to engage directly with and purchase latest works from these nine local artists in addition to the gallery boasting a representation of guest artists that have been curated from around the state, region and beyond. To deliver an immersive experience, the artists oftentimes will be on-site, allowing clients to hear stories of their inspiration, learning more about a selected piece or observing the artist's process as they work in a studio environment.
